Title : Ethological studies on bumble bees under subtropical conditions in India
Authors : Avinash Chauhan, Sapna Katna and B.S. Rana
Native pollinators play an important role in the sustenance of plant diversity which further supports the existing fauna. Among the different pollinators in the temperate regions of the globe, bumble bees have a very important place. Bumble bees are wild pollinators and belong to order Hymenoptera, family Apidae and genus Bombus. Ethological studies were made to know the behaviour of these important pollinators so that the observations could be put in practical application to mould this pollinator as a commercial pollinator in Asia. Different behavioural aspects related to nesting, foraging, pollination, flora, mating and hibernation were studied under natural conditions in sub-temperate and sub-tropical regions in India.

Polymorphism of M98K and T34T of the OPTN were identified in both POAG and control subjects. The M98K polymorphism of OPTN were observed in 35 POAG (35/60) and 18 in control subjects (18/60). The M98K polymorphism showed a significant association with POAG (P = 0.021, Chi-square test). The T34T polymorphism of the OPTN were observed in 18 POAG patients (18/60), and have no association with POAG (P = 0.183, Chi-square test). CONCLUSIONS: There is evidence of a positive association only between M98K polymorphism of the OPTN and POAG, T34T polymorphism of the OPTN gene have no association with POAG susceptibility in Indonesian People.

Purpose: To determine new approach in Binocular Single Vision (BSV) assessment for candidate of phacoemulsification micro surgeons Methods: All subjects were examined with general ophthalmology examinations and must be passed 20/20 Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) in first step. In second steps, subjects will be examined with Worth Four Dot Test (WFDT) in Distance and Near, Uncover Test, Maddox Rod and Titmus (Dots and Fly). Then in third steps, subjects who passed second tests were examined by two modification tests under operating microscope Results: 144 subjects were passed first step examinations and had 20/20 Binocular Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BBCVA). In second steps 126 subjects passed the tests of WFDT in Distance and Near, Uncover Test, Maddox Rod and Titmus (Dots and Fly). Those subjects underwent third steps examinations using Titmus test under operating microscope and combination of pointing and grabbing multicolour beads under operating microscope Conclusion: Titmus test under operating microscope and combination of pointing and grabbing multicolour beads under operating microscope may sharpening the BSV assessment for candidate of training phacoemulsification micro surgeons Keywords: binocular single vision, BSV, phacoemulsification, micro surgeons

Invasive squamous cell carcinoma is the most common gynecological malignancy in India. Precursor lesion cervical carcinoma in situ with superficial extension to the endometrium without involving myometrium is very uncommon. Here we report a rare case of 55 year old post menopausal women who presented to the gynecology department with pain abdomen, bleeding and discharge per vaginum of two months duration. Post operative histopathological examination of uterus revealed carcinoma in situ cervix with superficial extension to the endometrium. This was a rare phenomenon.
